About Mälardalen University
Mälardalen University has campuses in Eskilstuna and Västerås. We have approximately 15,000 students and over 1100 employees and we are expanding rapidly.

Half of our 15,000 students are studying engineering or natural science and the other half are enrolled in social science, behavioural science, humanities or health science. We offer 40 undergraduate programs, 40 graduate programs and approximately 500 courses.

Mälardalen University has established research areas in engineering and technology, natural science, humanities, social science and health science. Since 2000 we have the right to educate and examine researchers within the scientific area technology, which has lead to new doctoral students.

Students from Mälardalen University are in demand on national and international labour markets by being well educated and innovative critical thinkers.

Mälardalen University intends to become a university founded on understanding of the interplay between technology, the social and cultural conditions affecting people's lives, health, education, environment, working conditions and the economy. The university's research will focus on areas that, on the one hand, stimulate regional and national growth and on the other give rise to new knowledge about sustainable development, in which social conditions play an important role. Research activities are characterised by their advanced subject level and cooperation across disciplines.
